Job Summary:

As we look to continue leading the industry in quality and safety, we need a leader to build and operate our locate operation across the company. We need a leader to join our team who is a problem solver, confident, take pride in public safety and are comfortable in a fast paced, exciting work environment. This individual needs to oversee and direct the locate teams and ensure safety and production are executed at the highest level. This role offers great growth potential as we continue to grow our locating operation.

What you will be doing:

• Direct the day to day operations of our locating teams.
• Monitor performance of locating teams and ensure safety and production standards are met.
• Successfully manage the economic stability of the Locating operation by controlling labor costs, increasing revenue per locate, limiting at-fault damages, implementing safe work practices, and maintaining proper asset management and vehicle maintenance
• Drive performance standards so that budgeted targets are met
• Successfully manage the operation by controlling department costs, increasing revenue per locate, limiting at-fault damages, implementing safe work practices, and maintaining proper asset management and vehicle maintenance.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all employees, utility customer personnel, and the community
• Ensure that customer relations are at the most professional level and that the quality of service is world class
• Responsible for the interviewing and selection process of personnel within the locating operation.
• Partner effectively with Human Resources to maintain positive employee relations
• Involvement in the disciplinary process
• Must be able to work a variable schedule as necessary. May include some nights and weekends.
• Occasional travel may be required
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the department.

What You Need For This Position:

• Generally, requires 5 years of experience leading a locating operation
• Higher education or equivalent experience
• Clean Driving Record with a valid Driver’s License
• Pass initial and routine background checks and drug screening
• Have a verifiable work history
• Ability to work with technology and various software
• Must have the ability to pay attention to details
• Prior P&L experience preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate positive interaction and teamwork among Supervisors and Locate Technicians
• Must be skilled in analytical thinking and reasoning, organization, communication, planning, presentation development and delivery, and community relations
• Present a neat / clean appearance
• Must be comfortable talking in a professional manner with customers internal and external
• Be Self-Motivated
